CKC Training Event
This is a club sponsored event that the club will be contributing to your registration fee.   We are offering this training to improve your leadership skills and also provide additional skill set available to the club.  Please take advantage of this training opportunity.

Participants
- must be current club organizers (If not an organizer, it's easy to become one - please reach out to Cruise Director)
- must post and lead (3) club paddle events this calendar year.

Workshop Description:

Regardless of experience, paddlers often find themselves assuming leadership roles before they’re ready. You may have good personal paddling abilities, but learning  leadership and group management skills will help you lead a safe and fun excursion. You can lead with more confidence after taking this class whether you’re taking your family or friends out for a casual paddle, or guiding an organized group.

Over two days including both classroom and on-water time, we’ll cover the skills required to lead a group of beginners in protected waters.  The course is intended to provide the  minimum skills and training necessary for a leader possessing basic paddling skills to lead a group of beginning paddlers in gentle conditions.

Weather permitting, each day will include both classroom time and on-the-water time. In addition to learning material about leadership, trip planning and risk management we will review basic paddling skills, rescues and towing. We’ll have a chance to perform rescues and re-entries, so be prepared to get wet.
