Fran is one of the founders of Clean Jordan Lake back in 2009. Their mission is to remove trash and prevent it's recurrence. With 1,700 miles of watershed and 180 miles of shoreline that is quite a job!. Since 2009 with the assistance of 9,000 volunteers CJL has done 650 cleanups with 19,000 bags of trash, 4,700 tires, trash from 30 miles of shoreline have been removed.

NCSU students have developed a new GIS trash mapping mobile phone app for volunteers to record cleanups.

CKC does a cleanup several times a year on a portion of the Haw River shoreline as it comes into the lake.

Clean up Jordan Lake???
Why would we want to do that?

Because it is the right thing to do for wildlife.

And the right thing to do for us. Who wants to paddle with any of this???
