About this event
This trip is coordinated by the ACA -- It is a great "crossover" trip that includes members from CKC, CCC, TRR, and other paddling groups that don't have a nifty Three-Letter Acronym.
Cape Fear River Redemption is for everyone -- people who missed the Solstice paddle, and people who want to do it again. We will start at NCWRC's Wildlife Road and paddle 8 miles to the public takeout at the Cape Fear River Trail Park in Erwin. This trip is open to everyone and registration is not required. The 8 miles section does contain some rapids but all are beginner friendly for all types of kayaks, canoes, and even a paddleboard if you are up to 8 miles. The last couple trips have had over 40 paddlers so it must be fun.
Requirements
- Plastic boats recommended. There will be rocks.
- PFD (non-inflatable) must be worn during the entire trip
- Helmet must be worn during the rapids, and when wearing a skirt (extra helmets are available if you do not have one)
- Bring a lunch and plenty of water
