About this event

This trip is coordinated by the ACA and CCC -- it contains some rapids, and is beginner friendly. Plastic boats recommended. There will be rocks.

Cape Fear River Rendezvous will be a river takeover event no matter the level.   This will be the 2nd Annual Trip.  If the rivers stay normal flow, we will paddle recreational and whitewater boats down the 8 mile stretch from the new NCWRC boat ramp at Wildlife Road down to the Cape Fear River Trail Park in Erwin NC. This section contains the largest gradient drop of the entire Cape Fear River which includes multiple class II rapids.  It is very beginner friendly, even in a whitewater kayak yet still has many fun places to play.  At normal flows it will also be a family friendly trip.   We will stop at the island near the 4-mile point to enjoy lunch and hang out time before the last 4 miles of rapids.  Last year’s trip had 19 paddlers from all kinds of backgrounds and a bunch of fun.

The meet up time will be 8 or 9 A.M. depending on the amount of people that sign up and the water levels approaching that day but that will be emailed out to all the registered participants.

If the river level is too high for recreational boats, we will still conduct the trip with Whitewater boats and look at how many recreational boaters we have that may want to take a whitewater sit on top or raft down and organize that.

No fees required. To participate, you can register on the CCC website, or email William Holman.
