Trash threatens Jordan Lake's natural beauty, wildlife  and clean, safe drinking water.   YOU can make a difference!!

Semi-Annual club clean up event, Jordan Lake, sponsored by Carolina Kayak Club in junction with Clean Jordan Lake, who will provide gloves as well as bags and trash grabbers.

No trash is carried back on boats.

PFDs are required for the paddle
Highly recommend your bring / wear boots, long pants, and gloves for the clean-up

Wilderness Island Shoreline Clean-up

This is a working clean-up event.  To ensure your own safety and protection
  • Please wear long pants and boots - expect uneven terrain and undergrowth
  • Also bring your favorite work gloves and bug spray
  • Clean Jordan Lake will provide gloves and trash bags
We will launch from Roberson Boat Ramp (not the canoe ramp) and paddle approx. 1.5 miles to the pick-up location. (clean-up location is only accessible by boat)

We will pick up as much trash as we can, bag it, and stack the bags on the shore.  Trash will be picked up by the US Army Corps of Engineers.   (bags will be provided)

Event will run from 9:00 AM to approx. 12:00 PM.

The cleanup is to support the efforts of Clean Jordan Lake.  In 10 years of of volunteerism, more than 7,000 volunteers have removed over 16,000 bags of trash and 4,700 tires from 20 miles of shoreline.
Here is a Google Map link that shows the paddling route.
